(Note: Stop location should have read “Interstate 5 near milepost 200″)Two California-area residents Mexican illegal drug dealers from Mexi-trash LA, were arrested Tuesday afternoon by Oregon State Police (OSP) during a traffic stop north of Eugene that led to the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, firearms and body armor.
On February 24, 2009 at approximately 2:35 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe displaying California license plates southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 200 for a speed violation. The trooper identified the two occupants as driver JUAN FRANCISCO JIMENEZ JR., age 34, and passenger ALENIA ROSARIO NUNEZ, age 26, both from Los Angeles, California. The trooper checked to determine if either individual was wanted and learned JIMENEZ was sought by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery in the vehicle of:
* Approximately 14 grams of cocaine
* Approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine
* Two loaded handguns, one of which was confirmed as stolen in the Los Angeles area
* One set of body armor
* Approximately $9,500 cash
Both persons were taken into custody and lodged in the Lane County Jail on the following charges:

* Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine
* Felon in Possession of a Firearm

Following a Friday morning traffic stop, Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested two individuals mexican Males ( from the mexican drug cartel?) on Interstate 5 about two miles south of Canyonville after discovering approximately 31 lbs. of cocaine concealed in their vehicle. The case and suspects have been turned over to federal authorities pending further investigation and consideration of federal charges.On February 20, 2009 at approximately 7:00 a.m. an OSP senior trooper stopped a 1998 Ford Explorer displaying a Washington license plate for following too close and a vehicle license violation.
Contact with the two occupants identified them as driver JUAN MANUEL JESUS LUCERO, age 19, from Palmdale,
California, and passenger RAY GAYTAN CUADRAS, age 26, residence unknown.
California, and passenger RAY GAYTAN CUADRAS, age 26, residence unknown.Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery of 14 kilos, approximately 31 lbs., of cocaine concealed inside the vehicle. The seized cocaine has an estimated value of approximately $450,000.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident for Unlawful Possession, Manufacturing, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine.
The initial investigation with the assistance of OSP Drug Enforcement Section detectives led to both suspects being turned over to Drug Enforcement Administration agents for further investigation and consideration of federal charges.
Previous significant cocaine seizures by OSP troopers during traffic stops include:
* January 19, 2008 – 31 kilos (approximately 66 lbs.) on Interstate 5 near milepost 253 with an estimated value of $900,000.
* August 20, 2008 – 30 kilos (approximately 65 lbs.) on Interstate 5 near milepost 140 with an estimated value of $900,000.
* March 4, 2008 – 20 kilos (approximately 44 lbs.) on Interstate 5 near milepost 268 with an estimated value of $600,000.
* October 19, 2007 – 21 kilos (approximately 45 lbs.) and two pounds of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated total value of $600,000.
* July 10, 2008 – 5 lbs. of cocaine on Interstate 5 near milepost 10 with an estimated value of $65,000.

The owner of the restaurant made a call to police dispatch at approximately 8:15 pm Wednesday night and stated that a man with a gun had just robbed the business.The victim stated the suspect, now known as 21 year old Eric F. Zavala of McMinnville, entered the restaurant, then threatened and demanded money from him. Zavala had displayed a handgun during the ordeal. The victim further stated that the suspect also took his ring and necklace he was wearing at the time. The suspect then fled the scene. No injuries resulted.

Reports indicate a vehicle was waiting in the area being driven by 28 year old Rojelio Pacheco of McMinnville. An officer in the area at the time spotted the vehicle and brought it to a stop in the parking lot of a nearby McDonald’s Restaurant located at 11201 SW Pacific Highway. Once in the parking lot, Zavala ran from the suspect vehicle into the restaurant and holed up for a short time in a restroom located in the rear of the establishment. Tigard Officers ultimately took Zavala into custody at that location. A Tigard K9 search conducted in the area between the location of the robbery and the point of arrest located a handgun along with money and the jewelry alleged to have been taken in the robbery just minutes before.Both suspects have been lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of two counts of Robbery I. In addition, Zavala was also charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon based on his role in the robbery

DMV Worker Investigated In Fake ID Case

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Police and Washington County deputies are investigating a possible case of fraud stemming from a Hillsboro branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Detectives are looking into whether a worker at the Hillsboro DMV may have handed out fake Oregon ID cards to at least 20 people.
Detectives raided the home of Maria Morales who is a window clerk at the DMV.
On Tuesday, a tactical negotiations team from Washington County executed an early-morning raid on her apartment.
They had a search warrant and wanted to talk to Morales about a fraud investigation.
Deputies said the Department of Motor Vehicles worker may be involved in distributing fake Oregon ID cards, the same type of documents she processes as part of her job.
“I just took my son last year to get his license there. I never would have suspected anybody would do anything like that. Hopefully they’re wrong,” parent Jill Butcher said.
Police said Morales is cooperating with them. But they said they want to know who may have gotten their hands on the bogus IDs, and why.
At least 20 people may have the fake documents, police said.
“If she’s under investigation she needs to be removed from that position until it’s completely resolved,” Hillsboro resident Jennifer Manning said.
The DMV said she has been temporarily removed from her position. The department said Morales is on paid leave. Police said the window clerk has not been arrested or charged, but they’re continuing to investigate.
Police also said they’re not sure if the fake documents had real people’s information.
“I was a victim of ID theft about five years ago and it really impacted my life. I really hope they catch everybody involved,” Hillsboro resident Frank Reynolds said.
Police said they recovered some of the bogus Oregon ID cards from Morales but they said there could be more.
“The damage has probably been done,” Manning said.
Detectives said they’re trying to figure out how deep this investigation will go and what Morales might have done with the fake IDs.
FOX 12 attempted to contact Morales unsuccessfully.
